The City

Yooca takes place in a contemporary city — coffee shops, F&B outlets, a fun fair, parks, karting tracks, pet centres and brand flagship stores. It's designed to feel aspirational yet relatable for a Malaysian player aged 16–30, and it's shared in real time with other players.

City block unlocks

At Early Access, only a subset of city blocks is active. New blocks unlock progressively as brand partners commit coupons to the platform. This does two things: it makes the city a living content calendar (each unlock is a marketable update) and it gives brands an incentive to supply coupons so their block goes live sooner. The result is natural FOMO for players ("what's in that locked block?") and brands alike.

Who you'll meet

As of the current build there are no "dumb" NPCs — every character NPC is AI-powered, with its own backstory and personality, and reacts to you in character. Smart NPCs can take part in quests and remember recent conversation; Brand AI Assistants staff the stores (answer product questions, can open the brand's real website, and can trigger coupon offers); Brand Mascots roam the city and run quiz events with coupon rewards.

Getting around

Walk, or hold Shift to run (running drains your vitals faster). Personal vehicles include the skateboard, scooter and bicycle (cars are a future addition). Watch for traffic NPCs — cars follow city road logic and you must avoid them.

Camera & Yoogram

Yooca has a working in-game camera for photos and selfies, which you can post to Yoogram (Yooca's in-game Instagram). Proximity voice chat lets you talk to players near you.
