Vitals & Traits

Yooca is a life sim, so your character has short-term needs (vitals) and long-term stats (traits). Managing both is how you keep earning and unlock the best content.

Player vitals

Vitals show as bars in your HUD. Letting them deplete slows your movement, hurts your mood, and can eventually block certain activities — natural session-end pressure without hard gates.

Vital Passive drain Drain while active (run/cycle/skate) How to restore
Hunger 1% / 60s 3% / 60s Food / cooking
Thirst 2% / 60s 6% / 60s Drinks
Energy 0.5% / 60s + activity cost per-role cost Food, sleep
Hygiene 1% / 60s 3% / 60s Shower
Bladder fills as you drink (≈30% of thirst quenched) Use the bathroom
Happiness drains during solo earn-loops Socialise, eat treats, play arcade games
📝
Energy is the economic governor. Energy is the main limit on earning — each role drains a fixed amount of Energy that correlates with the Younits you can earn in that session, which creates a natural daily cap without hard lock-outs and makes Energy-restoring items (food, better beds) genuinely valuable.

Player traits

Traits are persistent stats that build up across sessions, gate content, open quests, and signal status.

Trait How it increases How it decreases Key gates
Strength Exercise (capped daily) 4% / week without exercise Physically demanding tasks/quests
Influence Social actions — kudos, gifts, friends, multiplayer 3% / week without login + interaction Influence-gated quests; status metric
Nett Worth Younits + YouniDollars + inventory + home value Does not decrease Premium opportunities; prestige
XP All engagement — quests, login, play, socialising Does not decrease Premium homes (Penthouse and above)

XP specifically gates premium homes and your overall progression — the more you engage across every part of the game, the more of Yooca opens up.

A note on skills

Beyond vitals and traits, each mini-game role has its own skill that levels up independently (Cycling, Cooking, Angling, Karting, Logistics, Darts) — the main driver of how much you earn. Covered fully in Roles & Skills.
